Modernize Software Without Breaking Your Business
The system is old, the developer is gone, and the business runs on it anyway. Jiss Tech takes over aging and broken software, stabilizes it, and modernizes it piece by piece — so improvement never means downtime.
What we do
From "nobody knows how it works" to a system you own.
System audit & takeover
We map the code, data, hosting, and risks of the system you inherited — and put version control, backups, and monitoring around it before anything else.
Incremental modernization
The highest-risk pieces get replaced one at a time — strangler-style — while the business keeps running on what still works.
Rescue & recovery
Broken software, failed projects, hacked systems: we stabilize first, then rebuild what can't be saved. One breached client was back up in under a week — stronger than before.
Security hardening
Exposed data, missing patches, shared passwords — closed out systematically, with a security assessment to find what else is waiting.
Data migration
Years of records moved from the old system to the new one — deduplicated, verified, and rehearsed before cutover so nothing is lost in the move.
Ongoing stewardship
After stabilization, we stay on: monitoring, updates, and a documented system your business actually owns.
In their words
Rescue work our clients have described themselves.
"We got hacked and had no backups. Jiss Tech rebuilt everything from scratch and had us back up and running in under a week — with stronger security than before."
"Things were a mess at my firm — exposed client data, broken software. Jiss Tech came in and lifted everything."
"I never expected such a major fix to our order-intake software to be this fast — or this well priced."

If you've been breached
The first 72 hours decide how bad it gets. We wrote down exactly what to do — containment, evidence, communication, and recovery — from incidents we've worked ourselves.
Modernizing usually pairs with new construction — see our web application development and API integration work.
Frequently asked questions
Modernization and rescue, answered plainly.
Our original developer is gone. Can you take over their system?
Yes — inherited systems are a regular part of our work. We start with an audit: map what exists, get it under version control and backups, document how it deploys, and identify the riskiest parts. Only then do we talk about changing anything.
Do we have to rewrite everything?
Usually not, and we'll tell you honestly when a rewrite is the wrong move. Most systems modernize incrementally: stabilize first, then replace the highest-risk pieces one at a time while the business keeps running on the rest. A full rebuild is the last resort — though when a client was hacked with no backups, we did rebuild from scratch and had them running again in under a week.
The system is currently broken or breached. How fast can you move?
Immediately — triage doesn't wait for a proposal. We've restored hacked businesses, fixed broken order-intake software, and cleaned up exposed client data. If you're mid-incident, read our guide to the first 72 hours after a hack, then call us.
How do you keep a modernization from disrupting the business?
By never breaking the running system to improve it. Changes ship behind tested cutovers with rollback plans, data migrations are rehearsed before they're real, and the old path stays available until the new one has proven itself in production.
What system is your business afraid to touch?
Tell us about it — no judgment, we've seen worse. You'll get a stabilization plan and a fixed price for the first step.
