Field noteBy Joe Sukar, Founder & Principal EngineerPublished October 5, 2026Practical thinking for teams building better systems.

Jiss Tech is now fully operational in Egypt. Our office in Shubra El Kheima is open, with a dedicated team ready to work with businesses in Egypt and across the Middle East. This gives regional clients a local point of contact for discussing software, reviewing how their business works, and planning a practical route from an idea to a working system.

For an owner or operations manager, the useful question is what that means for your project. Whether you need an Arabic and English website, a customer management system, an internal business application, or connections between existing tools, the starting point is the same: understand the work, agree on the outcome, and make the first release useful to the people who will use it.

Start with the process your team needs to improve

A productive discovery conversation starts with one real example. Show us how an inquiry becomes a quote, how an order moves between departments, or how a manager produces a weekly report. The useful details are usually the handoffs: who owns the next step, what information they need, and what happens when something is missing. Screenshots and a sample spreadsheet can explain more than a long feature list.

We use that discussion to separate essential work from later ideas. A first phase might cover one sales process, one customer portal, or one integration. Agreeing on acceptance criteria early gives both sides a way to judge progress. For example, every new inquiry should have an owner and a next action, and a manager should be able to see overdue follow-ups without asking someone to assemble a report.

Build Arabic and English into the experience

Arabic software needs more than translated buttons. We plan right-to-left layouts, readable forms, navigation, and mixed Arabic and English content together. Customer names, phone numbers, reference codes, and email addresses can appear in the same screen; each needs to remain readable and easy to copy. The same care applies to mobile screens, validation messages, and documents your team shares with customers.

For a public website, each language should have a clear page address, a useful title and description, and a language switch that keeps visitors on the equivalent page. For an internal application, we agree on the terminology your staff actually uses. Dates, currencies, reporting periods, and time zones should reflect your operation and the countries you serve, with those requirements confirmed before development.

Connect customer management with daily operations

Many projects begin with information spread across spreadsheets, inboxes, and separate applications. A CRM can bring customer records, quotes, tasks, and follow-ups into a shared workflow. The goal is to make the next action clear: who should respond, which quote needs approval, or which customer is waiting for an update. An existing platform may already cover much of this; we assess that before recommending custom work.

Integrations need equally clear rules. We identify which system owns each record, what can be synchronized, and how failures reach a person who can resolve them. Accounting, inventory, payments, and messaging connections depend on the providers you use and the access they offer. Those dependencies belong in the scope, along with any provider charges, so they do not become surprises during implementation.

Agree on security, ownership, and rollout

Before development, define which roles may see or change sensitive information, how access is removed when someone leaves, and what needs an audit trail. Discuss hosting, backups, restoration, and the data the application actually needs to retain. If your sector or operating countries impose specific requirements, bring them into discovery so the right technical and specialist reviews can be scoped.

A sensible rollout gives a small group time to try real tasks before the entire business depends on the system. Agree on how existing data will be checked, who approves the release, and how issues will be reported. Source code access, account ownership, documentation, training, and ongoing support should also be explicit. A project is easier to maintain when the handover is planned from the start.

What to bring to your first conversation

You do not need a finished specification. Bring the business problem, the tools you use today, the people involved, and any important deadline. If you have a budget range or a must-have integration, sharing it helps us discuss a realistic first phase. A redacted example of the current workflow is useful; you do not need to send customer records or passwords to explain the problem.
